I agree with Pope Francis, Messi, Ronaldo, Maradona and Pele are and we’re all great footballers, it seems the pontiff knows the sport well. Nevertheless, Pele and Maradona were before my time, and while I’ve had the chance to study their achievements and view clips of them in action, I doubt I can fully appreciate their greatness having not witnessed it first hand. Liverpool can well still cause an upset but they’ve already dropped some crucial points and can only lift this season’s premiership cup if the favourites fall into abysmal form going forward.
