‘Joga muito’ – Neymar shows his appreciation for Brazil team-mate Rodrygo’s sublime individual goal for Real Madrid against Cadiz

Rodrygo starred in Real Madrid’s 3-0 win over Cadiz on Sunday as he contributed with a brace and an assist for Jude Bellingham.

The Brazilian attacker scored the first goal with a sublime solo effort and then showcased amazing dribbling prowess to double his team’s lead. During the second, he went past four Cadiz defenders while nutmegging one of them before finding the back of the net.

The 22-year-old’s second goal caught the eye of his compatriot Neymar who was watching the match on Television. The Al-Hilal star, who is currently out of action with an ACL injury, appreciated the Los Blancos star’s effort as he posted a video of the goal – that he took from his television set – on his Instagram story with the caption “Joga Muito” which roughly translates to ‘Well played’.

With his match-winning performance for the Spanish giants on Sunday, the former Santos star equalled Cristiano Ronaldo’s La Liga record. The winger has now been involved in three goals in two consecutive matches for Real Madrid in La Liga, a feat that was achieved by only two players in the 21st century. Gonzalo Higuain did this once while the Portuguese superstar managed it an incredible seven times.

WHAT NEXT FOR REAL MADRID?

With the 3-0 win, Carlo Ancelotti’s side have now leapfrogged Girona to clinch the top position on the league table. Girona, however, have a game in hand and are just a point behind the giants. They will next face Napoli in the Champions League on Wednesday.
